Lecture-Style Courses (Not Hands-On)

Civil 3D Short Courses:

Civil 3D Short Courses serve as an effective introduction to AutoCAD Civil 3D in short, easy to assimilate two to three hour sessions.

Each Civil 3D Short Course focuses on a particular task within Civil 3D, from navigating the interface, creating and managing Surface, Point, Alignment and other data, through Project Management and on to more advanced topics such as Creating Corridors and Site Grading.

Introduction to AutoCAD Civil 3D - Core Concepts

This class provides an introduction to the concepts that underlie AutoCAD Civil 3D, and a roadmap to navigating its interface. The class explores the new interface settings in AutoCAD, the interface components unique to Civil 3D, and the basic concepts underlying the civil program: Data Management through drawing data, Civil Object and Label Styles, and Civil Projects.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Surface Modeling for Existing Conditions I - Aerial Data

This class examines the creation of Surfaces, or Digital Terrain Models, used by AutoCAD Civil 3D as the basis for profiles, sections, volumes and grading. The class also serves as a further examination of Civil 3D fundamentals as related to Styles and Settings.

Working with Points in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Points provide the basic interface for representing surveyed existing conditions in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Points are also an essential, but underutilized, tool for use in design and grading.  This class explores the nature of the Civil 3D Point: its creation, display, organization and editing.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Surface Modeling for Existing Conditions II - Point and Breakline Data

This class continues the examination of existing conditions Surfaces for AutoCAD Civil 3D begun in the previous class, applying the Civil 3D Surface methodology to working with point and breakline data as supplied from a survey.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Implementation - Styles and Settings

AutoCAD Civil 3D is controlled by a seemingly complicated hierarchy of settings and styles. This class attempts to demystify the configuration of the program, with the objective of effectively tailoring Civil 3D to produce drawings with the desired organization, look and feel.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Project Management - Concepts and Strategies

This class examines three project management tools in Civil 3D: the Survey Point Database, which can be implemented independent of the other tools, and true project management through Civil Data Shortcuts and Autodesk Vault.

Hands-On Courses

Classes for AutoCAD Civil 3D:

AutoCAD Civil 3D Essentials

Three-day introduction to Civil 3D for new users, for those with some Civil 3D experience, or for those migrating from Land Desktop. Includes a thorough examination of the Civil 3D program, including the interface, controls, as well as Object and Label styles and Project Management. Covers Surfaces, Points, Alignments and Parcels. This is a foundation course, and a prerequisite for Civil 3D classes that follow.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Intermediate

This three-day course builds on the concepts introduced in AutoCAD Civil 3D Essentials, and covers Civil 3D Profiles, Sections, Introduction to Corridors and Site Grading Tools. This is also foundation course, and is likewise a prerequisite for Civil 3D classes that follow.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Piping

This one-day class examines the pipe drafting portion of AutoCAD Civil 3D, including parts lists, the Part Builder and labelling options.

AutoCAD Civil 3D Corridor Applications

This one-day class explores the applications of the AutoCAD Civil 3D corridor tools beyond the basics to more complicated applications.
